Ceremony & Colophon

 

Ceremony & Colophon is a 7-foot panorama scroll, drawn entirely on location at Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. Scrolls such as Emakimono, Kakemono, Torah, Chinese silk landscape and Egypt papyrus traditionally are ceremonious in purpose, meticulously written or drawn by trained scribes, and gifted to honored dignitaries.

Jedidiah Dore created this work to depict his journey through continuous narrative drawing, honoring instead, a wild and native landscape.
